Jared and Krystle had a blast of a wedding at the Evergreen Lake House, located in the heart of the Colorado mountains.
This wedding rocked for so many reasons. The sunshine made for perfect lighting, the grass was green and soft, it was a perfect day! This was also the first wedding that I brought my husband Matt along as my second shooter, and he nailed it! Krystle and her bridesmaids (who all happen to be her sister or sis-in-laws), got ready in an adorable cabin nestled in right next to a lovely mountain stream. Krystle brought their dog Lola along, who is basically the floppiest and sweetest black lab ever. She helped all morning by chewing her bone and making everyone smile at her cuteness. The groom and his fellas were hanging out at the Lake House, looking sharp and keeping my hubby on his toes. When it was time for the ceremony Krystle's mom had the honor of walking her daughter down the aisle. The sky was celebrating along with this wonderful couple, the clouds were gorgeous! The couple opted for a "tie the knot" ceremony instead of a unity candle or the like, and it turned into a tug of war to make sure that knot was tight and lasting (I love the symbolism in this so much, plus it was hilarious). One of my favorite details of this wedding were the music choices. The bridal party walked down the aisle to a very fancy version of the "Jurassic Park" theme song, and after they were pronounced husband and wife, the couple danced back up the aisle to "Hooked on a Feeling" from Guardians of the Galaxy. My nerd self was so happy. The lighting in Evergreen is something else, and our portraits were a dream (it also helps when you have such a fun bridal party!). The dance party was a hoot, and the warm tones of the log walls of the lake house were so romantic. You can bet I was in the middle of the dance floor, cause that's how I roll! At the end of the evening I snuck the bride and groom across the lake for a final romantic portrait. With the soft lights of their venue behind them we ended the evening with a bang. Thank you so much for trusting me with your memories Krystle and Jared. You two are the best, and I wish you all the happiness in the world.
