Kelsey & Barrett, Meadow Creek Lodge Mountain Wedding Photography

Kelsey and Barrett are married (woohoo!!!), and was it a wedding to remember! 
Their Colorado mountain wedding had everything this photographer could hope for. Every detail was custom and straight from my Pinterest dreams. The college sweethearts were married in a meadow surrounded by wildflowers, aspen trees, and the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Pine, Colorado is an absolute dream for couples who want to be tucked away within a pocket of nature but not too far away from the convenience of the city. With an incredible bouquet of wildflowers, customized ring box, and flower collar and bowtie for their sweet pups, the special touches of this July wedding were absolutely on point.

The Meadow Creek Mountain Lodge was absolutely ideal in that not only was it private and full of the rustic charm of wooden cabins and fire pits (but in a super luxurious way, the honeymoon suite has a private hot tub inside!), but this sweet couple didn’t have to stress about transportation or logistics of moving around anywhere on their wedding day. Everything was located at the venue (cabins to get ready, ceremony site, and reception, not to mention they get to stay there after the party, so no worries about who is driving). This convenience goes a long way toward building more time into your timeline for photos, video, and fun! No one wants to have to rush around on their wedding day if they can help it and this couple planned it all so perfectly that each moment could be treasured. 

After a touching first-look and private exchange of vows, there was time to take photos of these two surrounded by purple and yellow wildflowers as well as with their sweet dogs (All members of the family are important to these two)! Having a first-look did nothing to take away from the emotion of the actual ceremony. Escorted by her father, Kelsey walked up the stunning summer meadow as friends and family waited, a quartet played, and the mountains stood watch.

The ceremony was full of thoughtful sentiment and special moments. The couple had a symbolic tree planting, with soil from their parent’s and grandparent’s homes. Let’s just say there were more than a few emotional tears and laughs before the couple sealed the deal with a kiss as the guests cheered in celebration and blew bubbles.

While Kelsey and Barrett took photos in the amazing open meadow, their guests went down to enjoy the cocktail hour in the reception space, where a stunning dessert table sat with a cake adorned by mountain frosting, and a second cake with little figures of their dogs on top! They also had the cutest succulent plants set out as wedding favors. Between taking in the amazing scenic view of the mountains and forest around them, the guests sipped on their drinks, ate appetizers, laughed at all of the children running around in their flowy flower girl dresses and tiny “ring patrol” suits, and taking full advantage of the stocked Photobooth. 

After Kelsey and Barrett returned and everyone had had their fill of some seriously bomb BBQ and some heartfelt speeches, the dancing commenced, and let me tell you, this family loved to dance! With amazing lights and music from an excellent DJ, not to mention a generous array of glow sticks (this is such a fun way to add color and light to your dancing photos…. 10 out of 10 recommend providing glow sticks for the dance party), this newly married couple danced the night away with their friends and family, who absolutely killed it on the dance floor. It was such a blast!

We ended the night with a tequila shot with grandma, and signing the marriage license under the twinkle lights. We were so honored to be a part of Kelsey and Barrett’s wedding day and felt so welcomed by their kind family and friends. Congratulations you two, you are the best couple, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness and a beautiful marriage!
